The Axis Golf Academy All-Star team earned a hard fought berth to the PGA Junior League National Championship after winning the Southwest Regional Championship this past weekend. Needing the best record in the group play matches to advance, Team Axis found themselves matching records with two other teams – meaning total points would decide the winner. Team Axis narrowly beat their fellow competitors with a half point margin over the second place finishers.

“At the end of the day, it came down to the last hole,” Captain EJ Kim siad. “Everyone was little nervous, and they knew what was on the line. It was an exciting day!”

Team Axis is comprised of Jack Wiebe, Jack Usner, Treed Huang, Daniel Zou, Alex Papayoanou, Bowen Ballis, Marek Fleming, Breaden Hoyt, Breckin Franklin, Aaron Pounds and Captain EJ Kim. They will be one of eight teams competing in the National Championship on November 16-19 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
